This was posted earlier today on TVGuide!

Precious star Paula Patton will join the cast of Law & Order: SVU in the fall, NBC announced Wednesday.

Patton will play Assistant District Attorney Mikka Von in multiple episodes, beginning with Episode 5. She fills the ADA slot left vacant by both Stephanie March, who won’t return to SVU this fall, and guest star Sharon Stone.

“When I saw Paula Patton give that terrific performance in the multi-Oscar nominated Precious, I knew she’d be perfect for SVU’s new Assistant District Attorney — she’s funny, warm and witty with a penchant for justice,” executive producer Neal Baer said in a statement.

In Precious, Patton played Ms. Rain, a teacher who inspired Gabourey Sidibe’s titular troubled teen.

SVU returns for its 12th season on Wednesday, Sept. 22.

YAY! They made it happen! When new promos and stills are uploaded closer to the premiere of the show and Paula’s debut we will most definitely have them up in the gallery for you all to view.

That’s the buzz according to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello’s Ausiello Files!

Law & Order: SVU is close to reaching a verdict on a new full-time assistant district attorney. Sources confirm to me exclusively that Precious actress Paula Patton is in advanced talks to succeed Sharon Stone as ADA.

Reps for NBC and Wolf Films declined to comment.

Last April, Stone joined SVU for a four-episode arc as ADA Jo Marlowe. She replaced SVU vet Stephanie March, who has since moved on.

In Precious, Patton played Ms. Rain, the alternative high school teacher who served as a mentor of sorts for Gabourey Sidibe’s title character. And she was awesome.

I just have one thing to say… Make it happen Dick Wolf! Well wonderful IPP visitors – what do you think about this news?

According to the very trusty Hollywood Reporter, Paula may have a new film soon! The best news of all is it would see our girl in a leading role!

Paula Patton, now onscreen in Just Wright, is in negotiations to topline the wedding-themed comedy Jumping the Broom. Television helmer Salim Akil is making his feature directorial debut on the project, which is slated to start shooting in the summer in Nova Scotia.

Written by Arlene Gibbs and Elizabeth Hunter, the film follows the clash of two black families from opposite ends of the socioeconomic background at a weekend wedding in Martha’s Vineyard. Patton would play the female lead of the wealthy family.

Bishop T.D. Jakes, Curtis Wallace, Tracey Edmonds, Glendon Palmer and Elizabeth Hunter are producing. Hunter did a recent polish on the script.

If the project comes together, it likely would go out through the Sony label.

Paula’s new film Just Wright is now playing in North America. The movie is getting some pretty mixed reviews to say the least but I think Paula looks really funny in it and it will be the last thing we see her in for a while right now so enjoy seeing her on the big screen!

Leslie Wright (Queen Latifah) is a straight-shooting physical therapist who gets the gig of a lifetime working with NBA All-Star Scott McKnight (Common). All is going well until Leslie finds herself falling for Scott, forcing her to choose between the gig and the tug-of-war inside her heart. Oblivious to her romantic overtures, McKnight is instead drawn to the affections of Leslie’s childhood friend Morgan (Paula Patton), who has her sights set on being an NBA trophy wife. Is Leslie destined to play the role of “best friend” forever or will Scott finally see that what he always wanted is right in front of him?

We now have a brand new layout on the site! This gorgeous design was created by my very talented and wonderful friend, Mikaela. Be sure to visit her design site Cloud Nine Inc. if you’d like a shiny new look for yourself!

This layout features one of my very favorite photoshoots of Paula, Vanity Fair circa 2006. An oldie but a goodie! I had hoped to add a bit more content to the site but I wanted to get the new look up in time for Paula’s new movie this Friday so it will have to wait a bit. But I hope you do like the much needed new look!

Last but certainly not least – back in March, we celebrated our third year online! Since 2007 this has been your only resource for Paula. We started off as a small tribute and fanlisting and we’re growing more each day. I always thought Paula had the talent to take her far and watching her career and fanbase grow as the years go by makes me so happy. I’d like to thank our staffer Qua, all the visitors and of course Paula herself! Here’s to another year!

She may now be the proud mother of a healthy baby boy born on April 6th 2010, but before giving birth to Julian, actress Paula Patton posed for a revealing Ebony magazine spread – which includes two covers of our girl. This issue hits stands nationwide on Tuesday April 13th. If anyone is able to provide scans, please send them in. I’m not sure when I’ll be able to (or which cover for that matter).

Not one. But two May Ebony covers provide just the right mix to fully capture rising star Paula Patton celebrating motherhood in a very sexy way. In an exclusive photo shoot, the 34-year-old starlet personifies this month’s theme of Power of Possibility. What represents possibility more than motherhood? As she prepared for the birth of her son, Julian and the release of her new romantic comedy, Just Wright, Patton is living in the moment after she reached a career high in her role in the Oscar-winning film Precious. “I’m so thankful about the things that are happening in my career. Being pregnant has been a real lesson in taking every day as it comes. I don’t know what’s coming next,” she said. Her husband, Robin Thicke, also chimes in on how the pregnancy changed him and how fatherhood will affect his music.

According to Access Hollywood Paula gave birth to baby Julian on Tuesday. The Intoducing Paula Patton Staff would like to send our warmest Congratulations to the happy couple.

The soulful crooner’s wife, Paula Patton, gave birth to the couple’s first child on Tuesday evening, a son named Julian, according to his tourmate, Alicia Keys.

Alicia actually confirmed the baby’s birth, offering congratulations to the new dad on stage during her Tuesday night show at the Los Angeles Staples Center.

The soulful crooner pulled out of his slot opening for Alicia on her “Freedom” tour earlier on Tuesday evening, but no reason was given at the time, according to the Los Angeles Times. A rep later told the paper he was not going to be at the show for “personal reasons.”

A source told Access Hollywood on Tuesday night, however, that the singer pulled out of the show because his wife had gone into labor.

Paula became pregnant in Fall 2009. She told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson earlier this year that her due date was May 23.

Last year, Robin told Essence magazine that his biggest fear related to becoming a father had to do with time and patience.

“I’m afraid of not being patient enough, but most of the time that’s when I’m scared or worried about the future,” he said. “I want to work on that. But my biggest fear is being able to be there, because I don’t know if kids ever think their parents were there enough.”

Robin added that he was looking forward to teaching his son basketball.

A rep for Robin was not immediately available for comment. [Source]

Queen Latifah revealed to E! Online that she is throwing a baby shower for Paula.

“It’s going to be pretty intimate,” Latifah tells me. “Not too crazy. Just close family and friends.”

Patton is reportedly due in May. “She’s my buddy,” said Latifah, who costars with Patton and Common in Just Wright, an upcoming romantic comedy set in the world of basketball. “I love her. I’ve been watching her baby grow from the beginning.”

Look for some musical gifts to be on the baby registry. Are they expecting the little guy to be musical? “He will be,” Thicke assured me.

“He will sing,” Patton said, adding with a laugh, “Look, no pressure!”

Latifah has her gift picked out. “I have some work to do, but I’m not getting her clothes,” she said. “I have a special gift that I’m excited about.”

And no, she won’t be called Aunt Queen or Aunt Latifah. She’ll be using her real name instead.

Latifah smiled: “I’m Auntie Dana.”

At the 82nd Annual Academy Awards, Paula and Robin updated TV Guide reporters about the status of their baby. I posted the video in the previous update, but I thought it warranted a special post for the baby watchers :)

They said Paula is officially 7 months and one week pregnant (due in May) with a boy. When asked if they had picked out a name, Paula looked a bit hesitant to tell but Robin told that they had selected Julian. Paula said a fun roadtrip inspired the name. When asked what kind of cravings she is having she just said foot massages – which Robin has been obliging too.

Can I get an aww? They are the sweetest couple! Once again that video is here.
